When a Customer Becomes a Friend: Meeting Olga in Prague ❤️

When a Customer Becomes a Friend: Meeting Olga in Prague ❤️

Some customers buy a bag. Others become part of your story.

Last week, I had the pleasure of meeting my lovely customer Olga in Prague. She lives in the UK, so we don’t get to see each other very often. That made our meeting even more special.

Olga has been part of my journey for quite some time. Over the years, she has chosen several of my handmade leather pieces, and every time she comes back, it means a lot to me.

This time, red was the winner. ❤️

Olga chose a red leather backpack – her third backpack from my atelier. I love seeing how each bag finds its person, and how a colour can immediately make someone smile.

We both love creating things by hand

There is another beautiful connection between us.

Olga is creative too. She knits wonderful sweaters and hats, and I am lucky enough to own some of her handmade pieces. So while Olga wears my leather creations, I wear hers. 😊

I think that is something very special.

We both understand how much time, patience and love goes into something made by hand. It is never just another product.

There is a person behind it.

There are hands that made it.

And eventually, there is someone who gives it a new story by wearing it.

More than a handbag

When I started Radka Sillerova Atelier in 2015, of course I wanted to design beautiful leather bags.

But after all these years, I realise that one of the most beautiful parts of my work is something I could never have planned: the people I meet along the way.

My bags have travelled to many different countries, but even more important to me are the relationships that have grown around them.

When somebody chooses one of my creations for the second or third time, I know it isn't only about owning another bag.

It is about trust. ❤️

It is knowing who made your bag, where it came from and that it was created by hand in my little atelier in Prague.

Radka Sillerova AtelierThank you, Olga ❤️

Our meeting in Prague reminded me again why I still love what I do.

Thank you, Olga, for coming back, for supporting handmade work and for giving another one of my creations a home.

I hope your new red backpack will accompany you on many beautiful adventures.

And I’m already looking forward to the next time our paths cross. ❤️
