A New Machine, A New Chapter – Investing in Better Craftsmanship

woman with a purple bag in a car and sewing machine

I’m so happy to share something exciting with you today:
We have a new machine in our atelier! 🖤

After many years of working with leather completely by hand, I decided to invest in a professional skiving machine with suction — a machine that thins the edges of leather before we sew them together.

Why?
Because when we work on larger pieces — especially structured backpacks and handbags — we used to spend a lot of time carefully thinning every leather edge manually.

Now? We’re faster, more efficient, and still 100% handmade in spirit.

✂️ Picked up with Love, Brought to Prague

This beautiful new machine comes from my trusted supplier in Nuremberg, Germany 🇩🇪
I picked it up myself and brought it all the way to Prague, where it now lives in our studio and is already making our lives easier.

It may not look glamorous, but for us — it’s a game-changer.

🎒 A Little About How Our Bags Are Made

Many of you ask me how our leather backpacks are made. So let me share a little:

👜 Each backpack still takes 6–7 hours of handwork, even with this machine.
🧵 We do everything ourselves — no outsourcing, no shortcuts.
🧒 No child labor, no unfair or unethical conditions — ever.
🌱 We use real, full-grain Italian cow leather, never compressed scraps glued together and embossed to look like leather.
🎨 We print our own linings, or we work with a lovely Czech company that creates beautiful designer linings we use in some of our models.

Every stitch, every lining, every edge — it's all made with care, honesty, and intention.

💼 Why This Matters

This new machine won’t make our work “mass-produced.”
But it helps us stay flexible, especially as orders grow and designs get more complex.

It’s a small step that helps us continue what we love:
Creating beautiful, high-quality bags slowly, ethically, and by hand.

Thank you for supporting our journey, and for choosing craftsmanship over fast fashion.
Every purchase helps us invest back into the tools, people, and materials that make our work even better 💖

With love from my atelier (now with a brand new skiving machine 😄),
Radka 🤍
